    <\/h3>\n

    Pago Tajones<\/h3>\n

    Area:<\/strong> 9 hectares (22.24 acres)
    \nSite:<\/strong> to the south of the river Duero in the municipality of Quintanilla de Arriba (Valladolid). The vineyard lies between the village and the \u2018Vega Sicilia\u2019 estate in Pe\u00f1afiel county and at an altitude of 790 metres (2592 feet).
    \nSoil type:<\/strong> Heavy clayey soils with a high pH (8.30) low in phosphorus and high in active lime, which gives the wine whitish tints.
    \nVineyard:<\/strong> The vines have been grafted with the Tinta del Pa\u00eds (Tempranillo) grape variety from the old Ribera del Duero vineyards. This vineyard, with 20,375 vines, was planted in April 2000. In April 2003, 2,850 vines of the Cabernet-Sauvignon grape variety were added.<\/p>\n

    <\/h3>\n

    Pago Las Quintanas<\/h3>\n

    Area:<\/strong> 7.44 hectares (18.38 acres)
    \nSite:<\/strong> to the south of the river Duero in the Padilla de Duero municipality (Valladolid), in Pe\u00f1afiel county and at an altitude of 755 metres (2477 feet).
    \nSoil type:<\/strong> Dark sandy soils with fine black sands, very hot in summer with little salt and low electrical conductivity. They contain a medium to high percentage of active lime and have a very high pH (8.70). The soil is rich in organic material (over 3.40%) and in phosphorus and potassium.
    \nVineyard:<\/strong> Tinta del Pa\u00eds (Tempranillo). The vineyard was planted with 18,750 vines in April 2001.<\/p>\n

    <\/h3>\n

    Pago Las Navas<\/h3>\n

    Area:<\/strong> 2,67 hectares (6.6 acres)
    \nSite:<\/strong> to the south of the river Duero in the Padilla de Duero municipality (Valladolid), in Pe\u00f1afiel county and at an altitude of 755 metres (2477 feet).
    \nSoil type:<\/strong> Sandy soils. Deep gravel beds make the soils quick-draining.<\/p>\n

    Vineyard:<\/strong> The same grape variety and planting scheme as in the Pago de Las Quintanas was employed, with 6,250 vines being planted in April 2001.<\/p>\n

    <\/h3>\n

    Pago La Tejera<\/h3>\n

    Area:<\/strong> 3.01 hectares (7.44 acres)
    \nSite:<\/strong> to the north of the river Duero in the Pi\u00f1el de Arriba municipality (Valladolid), in Pe\u00f1afiel county and at an altitude of 820 metres (2690 feet).
    \nSoil type:<\/strong> Clayey soils with a a high percentage of active lime and a high pH.
    \nVineyard:<\/strong> Tinta del Pa\u00eds (Tempranillo), with various clones. The vineyard was planted with 7,500 vines between 2002 and 2006.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
